Tic-Tac-Go tips and tricks

Think of the board as a tiny push puzzle. The answer is usually less about rushing toward the nearest O and more about preventing X from lining up too early.

01

Watch the X pieces first

A three-in-a-row line of X pieces ends the attempt, so avoid pushes that accidentally create a horizontal or vertical X line.

02

Use the player O as part of the line

Your moving O counts toward the final three-in-a-row. Often the last move is about placing the player between or beside two fixed O tiles.

03

Push only when the next space is open

Tic-Tac-Go only lets you push a neighboring X or O if the cell behind it is empty, so scan one square past the piece before committing.

04

Reverse from the goal

If the board feels blocked, imagine the final O line first, then work backward to decide which O tile needs to be nudged into place.
